Thomas J. O’Connor, M Ed, CRC  is a nationally recognized specialist in psychiatric disability management and return-to-work for professionals with depression and bipolar illness. His training credentials and clients include the FBI Academy, American Psychiatric Association, and the National Business Group on Health. Most recently, Mr. O’Connor sat on the National Study Design Panel Return-to-Work for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) beneficiaries with Mental Illness, on behalf of the Commissioners of the Social Security Administration. Historically, Mr O'Connor managed a 3-Year Federal demonstration project yielding a 70% return-to-work rate for professional-level employees with mental health-related disability (at PRS, Inc/Falls Church, VA). The program model and outcomes were subsequently recognized as a National Innovative Program Model by the American Psychiatric Association (1996). Following his work in occupational rehabilitation and workplace disability consulting, Mr. O’Connor formed O'Connor Associates, Inc in 2001 to provide rehabilitation and disability management directly to individuals, families and fiduciaries seeking better quality of life outcomes beyond simply therapy and treatment. Thomas has a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).
