Thomas J. O’Connor, M Ed, CRC
Managing Director

Thomas J. O’Connor is a nationally recognized specialist in psychiatric disability management and return-to-work for professionals with psychiatric disability. He managed a 3-Year Federal demonstration project yielding a 70% return-to-work rate for professional-level employees with mental health-related disability (at PRS, Inc/Falls Church, VA). The program model and outcomes were subsequently recognized as a National Innovative Program Model by the American Psychiatric Association (1996). His training credentials and clients include the FBI Academy and the American Psychiatric Association. Most recently, Mr. O’Connor sat on the National Study Design Panel to demonstrate better return-to-work outcomes for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) beneficiaries with Mental Illness, on behalf of the Commissioners of the Social Security Administration. Mr. O’Connor has a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).

 

 

 


Amy L. Shields, MA, CRC
Director, Care Management Services

Amy Shields oversees rehabilitation and resource development services for O’Connor Associates. Her expertise consists of case management, disability and insurance benefit management, and independent living. She has concentrated her professional development Supported Employment, Individualized Rehabilitation Planning, and Private Respite Care. Ms Shields clinical experience includes serving a diverse clientele with various complex medical, neurological, and psychiatric conditions. She is a recipient of the Rehabilitation Services Administration Long-Term Training Scholarship. Ms Shields has a Masters Degree in Counselor Education from The Pennsylvania State University and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).


Lauren A. Magri
Director, Supported Education Services

Lauren Magri oversees supported education and rehabilitation services for clients in college or transitioning from home to school. Ms. Magri has concentrated her professional development in behavioral and cognitive skills building to manage or accommodation cognitive disability. Her work experiences include Residential Rehabilitation, Crisis Management, and Vocational Rehabilitation with adults with mental illness. She has a Masters Degree in Developmental and Educational Psychology from Boston College and is a Certified Field Traumatologist.
