Becoming Our Client

Thank you for considering our services. We have a singular goal in each life we serve: create meaningful change. If we believe we cannot make that difference, or another resource will better serve you, we will not accept you as a client. Our service administration protocol consists of the following:

1. Upon receiving your telephone or email inquiry, one of our staff will contact you and conduct a brief screening call to determine your needs and our ability to serve them. Persons seeking more comprehensive services will be advised to participate in our consultation service or care management services, or both. Persons seeking short term help with very targeted needs ( ie workplace interventions or health/disability benefits assistance) may request our consultation service, with the understanding that we will provide one or two meetings to resolve the need. Lastly, persons needing help but unsure of how to be served will be invited to a screening.

2. If you wish to proceed with seeing us for an initial service (consultation or screening), we will email you our service agreement and privacy policy for your signature and return fax. Upon receipt of your signed agreement and copy of our HIPAA policy, we will schedule our first meeting, during which we will review care management delivery (intake, rehabilitation planning, and follow though services).

Whether performing one-time consultations or anticipating a long term service relationship, we always ask a new client to provide a written narrative of the disability-related life circumstances he or she is now experiencing , including obstacles to recovery, other meaningful issues, and any past medical (or other meaningful) records relevant to our work together.

It is important to know that we give scheduling and resource priority to existing clients needing ongoing care management services. Secondly, because of the cyclical nature of disability and its impact on year-to-year living, we remain loyal to past clients who may re-emerge and request services; once you are in our client family, we will always devise a way to serve, even in times of waiting lists. However, new clients who we commit to serve will always be providing time and resources before closed or inactive clients, so long as that new client remains active.

For Washington DC-based services, we conduct initial screenings and consultations at either our Dupont Circle office (1900 Q Street NW Suite 401) or Tenley office (4000 Albemarle Street NW Suite 304). In special circumstances, we accommodate requests for home or office-based meetings. We serve clients living outside the regional Washington DC area, and travel and/or Skype, depending on the expressed need of the client.

Please feel free to email with any questions about this process.
