Intervention and Crisis Services

Our Intervention and Crisis Services respond to a rapidly emerging need for expertise and action to stabilize an illness or disability-driven event that is escalating harm, neglect, or risk to a client. These services also interrupt and redesign broken or ineffective systems of care. Examples of Intervention or Crisis Services include:

  • Conducting a home-based family intervention to get an at-risk individual into medical or psychiatric care when the family cannot manifest that outcome on its own;
  • Designing and managing a ‘shotgun’ aftercare plan when a client leaves residential psychiatric care without notice and needs a safe living plan and a community-based clinical care plan;
  • Implementing crisis care plans for clients that need short term distress management strategies in order to avert medically unnecessary or therapeutically unproductive hospitalizations.

In most instances, Intervention or Crisis Services are several hours or (at most) several days in duration. We occasionally provide longer term services for families needing a more sustained campaign to break through entrenched behaviors and circumstances. Our goal is always to a) affect change that is medically responsible and ethical to the identified client as quickly as possible, b) provide a quality of life outcome for all persons within the system, and c) sustain behavior and circumstantial change within the family system well beyond the initial service period.

To Our Prospective Clients:

We understand that persons needing this service are experiencing a high level of emotional distress and seeking a quality service under extreme time pressures. As a result, qualified opinions and experts must be secured when you are least able to thoroughly assess quality and compatibility. Likewise, we only want to commit to serve when we can deliver an outcome and keep our promises. We want all parties experiencing these events to feel in control of their circumstances and achieve change. To this end, we will always take the time to vet your need. We may also direct you to another resource if we feel we are not best qualified to deliver the outcome required.

Thank you.
